Last Saturday 18th January, two Queens Park members joined a very small group for a walk around a tiny section of Queens Park. Only four groups were represented which included a football club, a playgroup and Friends of Queens Park Bushland. The walk was a little over one hour to complete and along the way plenty of discussions on how we thought our suburb could be improved and beautified.
The walk ended at our Queens Park Seniors Club where another two other members joined the group, so we were well presented. Also, four other interested members of the community meet us at the club and joined in the lively discussions. Canning Council had three representatives that were facilitating the event and at the end we were supplied with a light luncheon.
Although the number of community groups attending was disappointing, I believe we shared excellent ideas for the council to review and act upon.
